Bundle Up... FEBRUARY 7, 2026
SAULT STE. MARIE, ONTARIO
The Frozen Toe Fat Bike Race in Northern Ontario is the ultimate chill challenge for frosty thrill-seekers! Brave bikers gear up to pedal through snowy trails and icy winds, with their breath freezing faster than their tires can grip. This race isn’t just about speed— it’s about who can endure the cold and conquer the elements with frozen fingers!

10 km — The “Warm-Up” that Isn’t Actually Warm
Perfect for riders who want a taste of winter fat biking without committing to an odyssey. The 10 km course offers crisp trails, quick climbs, and just enough challenge to make you feel heroic without needing a recovery plan. It’s fast, friendly, and a great excuse to remind your legs they still exist in February. Whether you’re testing the waters or chasing a personal best, this is your gateway to winter racing—short, sharp, and a whole lot of fun.
25 km — The Mid-Distance “Why Did I Think This Was a Good Idea?” Classic
For riders who want more adventure but still intend to function as humans afterwards, the 25 km event hits the sweet spot. Expect rolling terrain, beautiful winter forest, and sections that will make you question your gear decisions and your life choices—in a good way. It’s long enough to feel like a real accomplishment, short enough that you won’t need to explain your suffering to coworkers on Monday. A solid challenge for intermediate riders or ambitious newcomers ready to level up.
50 km — The Big One: Bragging Rights Included
This is the marquee event for the hardy, the determined, and those who consider frost on their eyelashes a fashion statement. The 50 km race showcases the full depth of the winter trail system—endurance grinds, punchy climbs, sweeping descents, and long stretches where your legs negotiate unsuccessfully with your brain. Finish this, and you’ve earned serious trail cred. It’s demanding, rewarding, and just the right amount of slightly ridiculous—exactly what a winter endurance race should be.
Poker Roll (Because Not Everything Has to Hurt):
Looking for something a little more… chill than grinding out 50 km on a frozen trail? The Poker Roll is our light-hearted, good-spirited ride designed for anyone who wants to join the fun without treating the day like a personal epic. Think adventure, laughs, and questionable card-collecting strategy—all on a beautiful 10 km winter course.
Here’s how it works:
-
Start Line Deal: You get your first card before you even turn a pedal. Beginner’s luck is real—use it wisely.
-
Three Checkpoints: Along the route, you’ll pick up three more cards. Pace is entirely up to you—social spin, scenic cruise, or slow-motion snack tour.
-
Finish Line Finale: Roll across the line and receive your fifth and final card, completing your hand.
-
Winner, Winner, Trail-Side Dinner: The best five-card hand takes the glory. This is a game, not a race—your time doesn’t matter, but you do need to return before the cutoff (time TBD) to submit your hand.
It’s simple, it’s playful, and it lets everyone join the festival vibe—no stopwatch trauma required.
